One week from today we head South for the charms of Charleston, SC (with a D.C. pit stop!)Some random fun facts to get us excited:
* Charleston is home to a 1,500 year old beautiful live oak tree, Angel Oak that is 65' high and 160' around!* According to Claire of Gibson King, the restaurant Virginia's on King has delicious "Lowcountry" dishes including the best grits in the South!
* Our hotel The Hampton Inn Historic District is a renovated 19th Century railroad warehouse!
* The historic mansions in Charleston are famous for their "Joggling Boards" which were used for exercise and leisure as well as said to bring people together - literally by bouncing on them till your partner slipped closer!
